Dorothy "Dottie" Calhoun

Dorothy “Dottie” Jean Calhoun, 82, of Florence, Kentucky passed away on August 7, 2019 at St Elizabeth, Florence.  She was born in Zanesville, Ohio on February 15, 1937 to the late Oscar and Eva Bell MacFerren.  On April 25, 1953, Dottie married Harold Calhoun and he survives.  Dottie was a nurse’s assistant for many years, and she loved to care for people.  She was a member of the Florence Baptist Temple where she invited and brought 63 people and won the “Oh How I Love Jesus” award.  Dottie was an amazing wife and mother who loved her sons dearly.  She enjoyed decorating and cleaning her house, as well as mall walking.  Dottie loved her family, especially her daily conversations with her sister Martha.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Eva MacFerren and several brothers and sisters.

Along with her husband of 66 years, Dorothy is survived by her sons Douglas ( Eva), Michael, Gregory, Bradley and Rodney (Christine); sisters Debbie McDonald, Jane Isles and Martha MacFerren; brothers Chester MacFerren and Donald MacFerron; grandchildren  Gidget Calhoun, Jason Calhoun, James Calhoun, Jason Calhoun and Corey Calhoun; great grandchildren Bryson Combs, Austin Calhoun, Parker Calhoun, Brayden Calhoun, Wyatt Calhoun and Elliot Calhoun; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A visitation will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm.  Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.  To leave online condolences, please visit www.floralhillsmemorialgardens.com
