COVINGTON - David W. Bates, Jr., 60, of Washington, D.C., formerly of Covington died Jan. 30 at his home.
He was civil servant employee for the U.S. Army and Smithsonian Institute, in Washington.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Bates Duffy; sisters, Carolyn Bates Potter and Deborah Williams, Rosemary Green and Kimberly Annette Duffy; brothers, Phillip and Reginald Bates.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday with services following at Ninth Street Baptist Church, Covington.
Burial is in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill. Jones Simpson & Gee Funeral Home, Covington is handling arrangements.
