David Alan Ponder

David Alan Ponder, of Covington, KY, passed away surrounded by his loving family

at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, KY, on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the age

of 70. He was born in Covington, KY on May 12, 1953, the son of the late Aubert

“Brown” and Eula Mae Ponder. David worked as a truck driver and enjoyed working

on cars. He was also a Mason and in his free time liked camping, tending to his

vegetable garden and traveling. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time

with his family who he cherished. Preceding David in death were his parents. Those

left surviving to carry on David’s memory include his loving and devoted wife of 52

years, Mary Kathleen “Kathy” Ponder; sons, Christopher Ponder and David

(Shannon) Ponder; grandchildren, Joseph (Katherine “Katie”) Ponder, Jacob Ponder,

Zackery Leffler and Kenton Leffler; as well as many other relatives and friends. A

visitation celebrating David’s life will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on

Friday, December 8, 2023, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road,

Taylor Mill, KY 41015. David will then be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memorial
