EMOGENE (Hopperton) FISK
Emogene Hopperton was born in Elliston, KY along with her twin sister, Marie to parents Eliza and Harvey Hopperton. She had two older brothers, Robert Lee and Eugene – all deceased.
She was married to, Ed “Pert” Fisk, for 52 years. They had two children, Marla (Darrell) and Mark (Rita). Three grandchildren, Adam (Johnna) Johnson, Craig (Laurie) Johnson, Courtney (Kevin) McCarthy. Five great-grandchildren, three bonus great-grandchildren, and three bonus great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Emogene worked for 30 years in banking. Started as a teller at Peoples-Liberty Bank and ended her career as Assistant Trust Officer of that bank.
She loved sewing, reading, crossword puzzles, playing solitaire, watching Masterpiece Theatre on PBS, cooking (but enjoyed eating out, too), preserving the garden produce, painting and selling woodworking items, socializing while walking at the mall and dancing at the Red Barn to country music. After Pert died, she eventually got back to mall-walking and dancing again.
Emogene loved her family and enjoyed life. She very much missed the ones that had gone on before her, but she was a strong, self-reliant, intelligent woman.
