Iona (Onie) Louise Thompson,

70 of Morning View, Kentucky passed away peacefully at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, after battling brain cancer. Onie retired from the optical business and worked as a house cleaner for several years. She enjoyed traveling with her family to Gatlinburg and Florida. She is preceded in death by her husband Anthony (Tony) Thompson and her father Henry Franklin Connelly. Onie is survived by her daughter Tonya M. Thompson of Covington, KY; grandchildren Taylor Walker of Independence, KY and Emma West of Covington, KY; mother Thelma Connelly of Crittenden, KY; brother Terry Lawerance of Independence, KY; sisters Roxanne Scroggins of Crittenden, KY and Melissa Aylor of Florence, KY; great grandchildren Adalyn, Mason and Ayden; many extended family members and friends. A Memorial Gathering will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home on Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. Onie will be inurned at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens with her husband.
