Jack Lee Smith

Jack Lee Smith, 81, of Covington, died Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Hazard Regional Hospital ER. He was born January 25, 1942, in Covington, a son of the late Clarence W. Smith and Effie Hughes Smith. He retired as a meat cutter from Heringer Meats in Covington, Kentucky after 40 plus years of service. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was married to the love of his life, Eunice Lauer Smith, on September 2, 1961. He is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline M. Feldhaus (Keith) and son, Michael A. Smith (Nicole) 4 grandchildren, who meant the world to him, Amberly & April Feldhaus and Alexis & Braiden Smith, his brother, Bobby Smith and sisters, Linda Adkins and Tammy Disney. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy, Clarence, and Rodney Smith, and sisters, Pat Walls, and Gloria Smith. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023, at 1 pm, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, where visitation will be held from 11-1 PM.  Burial to follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will follow the burial at Floral Hills. 

Jack loved spending time with his family more than anything else in the world. Right up there with UK athletics. He was an avid UK basketball and football fan. He loved watching the Cincinnati Reds, Nascar Racing, and the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed his trips to Buckhorn Lake and Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The family shares very fond memories of playing putt putt, card games, having family picnics together, and we can’t forget the Thanksgiving Bingo games. He shared 62 wonderful years with his wife, making memories with her and their family. Throughout the years, you could find him at the bowling alley with his brothers, where he accomplished his greatest achievement of bowling a perfect 300 game at The Bowlounge in Latonia, Kentucky. Jack was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
