John David Thames

John David Thames, age 88, of Kenton Vale, KY, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024, surrounded by his family. John was born on October 9, 1935, in Covington, KY to the late Simpson R. and Luella (nee Goodhew) Thames. When John wasn’t tending to his garden, you would be able to find him refinishing old wooden projects, watching UK basketball, fishing or on his front porch with a hot cup of coffee. John was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife: Barbara Thames. He is survived by his children: Tim (Denise) Thames, Kim (Glen) Fossett and Missy (Shawn) McDonough; grandchildren: Tyler, Liz, Amanda, Katie, Kylie & Megan; great-grandchildren: Jameson, JD, Sawyer, Logan, Gianna, Kai and Jack. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Rd., Taylor Mill, KY 41015. Interment will take place in Highland Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
