Minot "Harold" Phelps, a respected veteran, devoted family man, and dedicated worker, passed away on September 8, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, Kentucky. Born on August 1, 1946, in Crescent Springs, Kentucky, Harold leaves behind a rich legacy of love and service that will be cherished by many.
Having proudly served as a Marine during the Vietnam Era, Harold's commitment to his country was a defining part of his identity. Following his military service, he devoted 40 years to the Boilermakers Union, where he was known for his hard work and dedication to his craft.
Harold was not just defined by his career; he was a vibrant individual with a variety of interests. He loved to spend his leisure time participating in activities such as bowling, golf, horseshoes, and fishing, creating countless memories with family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol A. Brossart Phelps, and his children: son Jeff Phelps (Becky), daughter Mary Baute (Marty), son Gregory Phelps (Renee), and son Matthew Phelps (Michelle). Harold also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, who were a source of great joy and pride throughout his life.
Harold is preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Visitation for Harold will be held on September 13, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home - Chapel A, located at 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road, Covington, KY 41015. The funeral service will follow immediately at 12:00 PM, allowing family and friends to gather in memory of a remarkable man whose spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens with military gravesite rites.
