Philip Wayne Morris

Philip Wayne Morris, 74, of London, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington. 

 

He was born May 2, 1949, in Covington, a son of the late Harlan (Chick) Morris, Jr. and the late Gladys (Hughes) Morris Martin.  

 

He worked for Sysco foods for 16 years and retired from Ken’s Beverage, Inc. after 24 years of service. 

 

He joined the Armed Forces in 1971. He became a sergeant and served in Korea on the DMZ. He was a proud Army Veteran. 

 

He got saved August 27th, 1977, during a revival at Latonia Full Gospel and was a member there for 43 years. He and his family moved to London, KY August 1, 2020 and became a member of Briar Creek Church of God in Williamsburg, KY, where his son Ben pastors.

 

He is survived by his wife Anita (Hager) Morris, his children: 

 

Jessica Adkins and her husband Greg and children James (Brandi), Kayleigh, Cayden, Kammie, Chase, and Cayson

 

Nathan Morris and his wife Kimberly and children Maleah, Caleb, Carissa, Connor, Jeremiah

 

Jonathan Morris and his wife Bridgett, and children Jalee, Kylee, Myra 

 

Jeremy Morris, and daughter-in-law Terra Morris and their son Chandler 

 

Benjamin Morris and his wife Jennifer, and children Anna, Emma, Natalie 

 

He is also survived by his stepfather Ron Martin, his sisters Cheryl Huebner and husband Mike, Barbara Herzog and husband Dennis, Terry Morris,  Linda Fuller, and his brother Jerry Morris (deceased) and Jerry’s surviving wife Pam Morris, his step brother Ronnie Martin, his Uncle Bill Hagedorn and his wife Debbie, his brother and sister-in-laws by marriage:  Michelle (Dennis) Kersey,  Teresa (Danny) Hughes, Michael (Sophia) Hager, and Tommy (Rhonda) Hager and his stepmom-in-law Helen Hager and stepfather-in-law Bill Young and many other nieces and nephews, cousins and many many many many friends. 

 

He was a servant of the Lord and will be truly missed by his family and church family.  

 

Visitation will be Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Latonia Full Gospel Pentecostal Church 

from 2-6 PM.  

 

Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday, July 10, 2023, at Community Family Church.  

 

Burial will take place Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, Williamstown, 11AM
