Phillip “Phill” Young, of Falmouth, KY passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ft. Thomas, KY at the age of 72. He was born in Leslie County, KY on November 25, 1951, the son of the late Doc and Anna Lee Young. Phill had worked as an automotive detailer and was a member of Turner Ridge Baptist Church in Falmouth, KY. In his spare time, Phill enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching University of Kentucky basketball. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he cherished deeply. Preceding Phill in death were his parents; two daughters; one son; one grandson; two brothers and three sisters. Those left surviving to carry on Phill’s memory include his loving wife, Melinda Young; children, Howard Russell, Charlene Russell, Penny South, Farren Young, Robert Young, Melissa Trent, Kevin Trent and Angela Back; one sister, Maxine; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; as well as many other close relatives and friends who are now emptier upon his passing. A visitation celebrating Phill’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 11:00 Am until 1:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road, Taylor Mill, KY 41015. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Brother Dale Beighle will officiate. Phill will then be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
