Roger Dale Evans, a devoted family man, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the age of 70. Born on January 8, 1954, in Laurel County, KY, Roger was known for his unwavering commitment to his family and community.
Roger owned and operated his own contracting business, a testament to his hard work, dedication, and entrepreneurial spirit. His work not only built homes but also built lasting relationships and a legacy of quality and trust within the community.
A true family man, Roger's greatest joy was his family. He was deeply involved in the lives of his sons, Mike and Nick, always ensuring that family came first. Roger's love and guidance shaped their lives in countless ways. He was their biggest supporter, mentor, and friend.
Roger's commitment to youth development extended beyond his own family. As a Boy Scout leader, he imparted valuable life skills and instilled a sense of adventure and responsibility in countless young scouts. His leadership and enthusiasm were evident in every meeting, hike, and campout.
In addition to his role as a scout leader, Roger was a passionate coach, always eager to take on coaching responsibilities for his sons' sports teams. His dedication to coaching was driven by his desire to be actively involved in his sons' lives and to foster a love of sports and teamwork in the youth he guided.
Preceding Roger in death was his devoted and loving wife of 43 years, Julie Evans, his parents, Frank and Ollie Evans and his sister, Becky.
Roger Dale Evans is survived by his cherished sons, Mike (Courtney) Evans and Nicholas (Alexandra) Evans; siblings, Wanda, Anne, Jenny and Ernie; grandchildren, Aniston, Hudson, Leelynd and Harmony; and a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly. His legacy of love, leadership, and community spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A celebration of Roger's life will be held from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Monday, June 24, 2024, Floral Hills Funeral Home ~ Chapel A, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road, Taylor Mill, KY 41015. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Roger will then be reunited with his loving wife and laid to rest peacefully at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made directly to the family to help them during this difficult time.
Roger will be remembered for his kindness, his unwavering dedication to his family, and his significant contributions to the community. His memory will forever be a guiding light for all who had the privilege of knowing him.
