Ronald Reed “Ron” Rose, of Covington, KY passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY at the glorious age of 87.

He was born in Isom, KY on August 13, 1936, the son of the late Albert Rose and Alma Nycum. Ron worked for and retired after 37 years as the head of maintenance in the steel industry and was a member of Florence Baptist Church of Mt. Zion. In his spare time, Ron enjoyed tinkering with things around the house. He had a knack for fixing things and if you needed help, he was the man for the job. Ron also enjoyed traveling around the United States, especially Shenandoah National Park in Virginia and Gatlinburg in Tennessee. He took pride in knowing all the different routes you could take and always had his trusty atlas by his side. Ron’s greatest joy, however, came from spending time with his family whom he cherished deeply.

Preceding Ron in death were his parents; his 1st wife, Charlene Rose; sisters, Neva Beaver and Mary Lou Rose; stepson, John Dehner; stepdaughter, Kathy Dehner and son-in-law, Wayne Saylor.

Those left surviving to carry on Ron’s memory include his loving wife of nearly 40 years, Patricia Rose; children, Randall Rose, Rhonda (Dan) Qasem, Linda (Ben) Rose, Robin Saylor, Ryan (Elaine) Rose and Lindsay (Eric) Sanford; stepchildren, Jeff (Holli) Dehner and Michelle  (Michael) Davis; siblings, Benny Rose, Kenny Rose and Bill Rose; close family friend who was treated like a son, Brian Eldridge; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as many more close relatives and friends who are now emptier upon his passing.

Ron will be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery in a private service. Floral Hills Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
