Roy Murr

Roy V. Murr, 85, of Walton, Kentucky passed away on November 2, 2020. Roy was a man of faith, a beloved husband, devoted father and cherished grand-dad. He enjoyed woodworking and sports, he was a big UK fan. He was always joking and had a great sense of humor. Roy was proud to be a Kentucky Colonel. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Kathleen Murr (nee Taylor); children, Lawrence (Wanda) Johnson, Rick (Karen) Murr, Kristy Murr-Donovan (Frank Bennett); 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and 1 on the way; and his brother, Ivan “Buzz” Murr. Roy was preceded in death by his son, Roy H. Murr; sister, Bonnie Medley; and his parents, Wilbur and Bessie Murr. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 10 am until Funeral Service at 12 pm, all at Beaver Lick Baptist Church, 11460 US Highway 42, Union, KY 41091. It is preferred that those attending wear face masks and practice social distancing. Burial will immediately follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. If desired, memorial donations may be made in Roy’s name to the church.
