Wilma Jean Steele, 87, of Independence, passed away Monday, March 4, 2024 at Highlandspring in Fort Thomas. She was born March 2, 1937, in Covington, the daughter of William Martin and Hazel Proffitt Martin. She was married to Foster Darrell who preceded her in death in 1973. She found happiness again, when she met and married Ed Steele in 1981, who preceded her in death in 2003. She is survived by her children, Foster Darrell (Sharon); Terri Bolen (Tim); Wanda Schneider (Jay); two stepdaughters, Jackie Luyet (Francois) and Toni Dolwick (Bill); her 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 12 PM Monday, March 11, 2024, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, with Pastor Randy Wallace officiating, where visitation will be held Monday from 10-12PM. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Research Hospital.
